He will compete for the starting job at first base this season. He could also see action off the bench as a late-inning defensive replacement at first base or as a pinch-hitter.
SUMMER (2006):
- Played this summer for the Watertown (N.Y.) Wizards in the New York Collegiate Baseball League
- The Wizards finished the summer with a 25-19 overall record, which included a pair of losses to Little Falls in the first round of the playoffs
- In 31 games, Henderson batted .178 (18-for-101) with one home run and six RBI
FRESHMAN (2006):
- Appeared in 38 games mainly as a late-inning defensive replacement at first base. He did make two starts during the season.
- He batted .273 (6-for-22) with two doubles and three RBI in his first season with the Crimson Tide
- In SEC play, Henderson played in 17 games and logged two starts and batted .286 (4-for-14) with two doubles and three RBI
- Recorded his first career hit against No. 1 Mississippi State on April 2
- He went 2-for-4 with an RBI double to help the Crimson Tide to a 14-7 series-clinching win over No. 22 Vanderbilt on April 22
- Henderson’s pinch-hit, two-run double sparked the Crimson Tide’s 6-5 come-from-behind win over Vanderbilt on April 23

- During his four-year career, Henderson batted .441 with 36 home runs and 154 RBI for the Yellow Jackets
- Named to the Birmingham News and Alabama Sports Writer’s Association All-State team for three consecutive years (2002-04)
- He was also a three-time All-Calhoun County selection (2002-04) by The Anniston Star
- Three-time All-Area Diamond Dazzlers selection (2002-04) by The Anniston Star
- As a prep senior, he batted .456 with nine home runs and 40 RBI
- He walked 47 times as a senior, the sixth highest single-season total in AHSAA history
- As a junior, Henderson batted .451 with a career-best 13 home runs and 43 RBI
- The 13 home runs were the most by any Class 5A player in the state in 2003
- Played for Team Alabama in 2003 and played against the USA Junior National Olympic team that finished runner-up in the junior Pan Am Games
- Also played for the Bama Bombers at the 2003 World Wooden Bat Association Tournament in Jupiter, Florida
- Participated in the 2003 Team One Showcase at Houston, Texas and was named on of the Top 25 prospects at the showcase
- As a sophomore, he batted .454 with 10 home runs and a career-high 46 RBI
- Henderson won Oxford High School’s Big Stick Award and was the Offensive Player of the Year in 2002
- He was Most Valuable Player of the Calhoun County Tournament in 2003, leading Oxford to the championship
