TUSCALOOSA ?? Fans who arrive early, tickets in hand, for the No. 8 ranked University of Alabama basketball team's January 1 home game against Oklahoma will be rewarded two-fold. Not only will they view a great collegiate match-up between the Crimson Tide and the Sooners but the first 1,000 ticketed fans through the doors will receive a free Ronald Steele backpack. The drawstring backpack is made to look like Steele's 2006 Alabama "retro" jersey. It features his name and jersey number on one side and his jersey number 22 and "Alabama" on the other.
Alabama plays Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. CT Monday in a game that will be televised on ESPN. Tickets are available and can be purchased at the door or, in advance, by calling 1-800-TIDETIX, or by logging on Alabama's website and ordering through www.rolltide.com. Tickets are $12 for the non-conference games. A youth ticket is also available for $8.
The Crimson Tide, 11-1, plays two home games in the next few days as it wraps up its non-conference schedule. Alabama plays host to Lipscomb on Friday night, December 29, at 7 p.m. CT.
