Tide Hoops Hosts Montevallo Saturday

Both teams also feature prospective All-Americans in their respective divisions,
"Montevallo as an exhibition game should prove to be a pretty good challenge for us," said Alabama head coach Mark Gottfried whose 2006 NCAA tournament team finished 18-13 overall. "Montevallo finished in the top eight last year in Division II, and we were hoping when we scheduled exhibition games to play very good basketball teams. With the NCAA rules the way they are now, you have got to play collegiate teams, so we want to play really good teams. I think Montevallo is going to be a very good basketball team, so that should be a good challenge. It's a good opportunity for our guys."
Montevallo finished 29-5 last season, advancing to the NCAA Division II tournament's Elite Eight.
Tickets to the game are $5 and can be purchased at the door. Saturday's home giveaway will be a free Alabama Basketball schedule poster.
