Daily Journal: NCAA Tournament Day 1
11/29/2006 12:00:00 AM | Volleyball
The University of Alabama is currently at the NCAA national tournament in Austin, Texas. A member of the University of Alabama volleyball team will write a journal each day the team is in Austin. Today redshirt freshman Christie McKee talks about traveling to Austin and the first days activities.
Today we left for the NCAA volleyball tournament in Austin, TX. Our day started off well, not only because we are all very excited, but also because Coach Moore came to see us off! We drove to Birmingham to catch our flight to Atlanta and then traveled on to Austin. When we got to Atlanta we were able to eat lunch on our own, which was probably best because we are traveling with 33 people! For Amy (Pauly) and I, however, it did not work out quite so great. We got a little distracted while doing crossword puzzles and almost missed the flight! It was very embarrassing when we were running through the airport, and when we had to walk on to the plane with everyone looking at us, but luckily we got there just in time.
After we arrived in Austin we checked into our hotel and rested up before dinner where tonight's choice was Chinese. During dinner we entertained ourselves with learning how to use chopsticks and with watching Juice (Crystal Hudson) eat all of the rice. After dinner some of us took a quick walk down 6th Street before heading back to the hotel. Now it's almost time for bed so that we can rest up for tomorrow and our match on Friday with Stephen F. Austin!
Roll Tide Roll!
