Softball Team Will Sign Autographs on Quad Saturday

TUSCALOOSA ?? The University of Alabama softball team will be signing autographs on the quad from 9:45-10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The defending SEC Champions will be located in the UA team tent near Denny Chimes. They will sign posters that feature pictures of all 18 players and a 2007 schedule. The team will also bring softballs to sign. Fans are welcome to bring cameras and take pictures with the players and coaches. Also available at the autograph tent will be season ticket brochures. Fans who buy season tickets will have their choice of receiving either an Alabama hat or visor free with their order.
The 2006 softball team won its first regular season championship by going 25-4 in conference play. Alabama added the regular season championship to its three SEC Tournament titles in 1998, 2003 and 2005. The Crimson Tide finished its season with its fourth College World Series appearance in seven years and second straight. Alabama compiled a record of 54-11, including a 30-4 home mark.
Some of the players that will be signing autographs are Brittany Rogers, Jordan Praytor, Ashley Holcombe, Dani Woods and Chrissy Owens. Rogers was a third team NFCA All-American and was named SEC Freshman of the Year. She was joined on the SEC 1st team by Praytor. Holcombe and Woods were each 2nd team All-SEC selections. Owens joined Rogers and Praytor on the All-South region team. SEC Co-Coach of the Year Patrick Murphy will also be at the autograph tent.
The autograph signing will be part of several pre-game activities on the quad. The football game against Mississippi State will follow at 11:30 a.m.
