
Volleyball Falls to Ladybacks in Fayetteville

The University of Alabama Volleyball team fell to Arkansas in Fayetteville in a hard fought see-saw 3-0 match.
Alabama fell 30-28 and 30-25 in the first two games hitting .143 in both. The first game was a back and forth affair with neither team taking more than a three point lead. Game two was more of the same, with neither team backing down.
The hitting improved a bit in the third game, hitting .179, but the Tide fell 30-26. After falling behind early in the third game, Alabama roared back to tie it up for the first of seven ties in the game.
Alabama goes to 15-12 overall and 10-8 in Southeastern Conference play while Arkansas climbs to 16-10 and 9-9 in the SEC.
Only two players had double-digit kill totals. Arkansas’ Denitza Koleva had 18 while the Crimson Tide’s Crystal Hudson put 14 away. Hudson also had 10 digs while Amy Pauly led the match with 15. Alabama’s Rachel Green hit .368 with nine kills. Brigitte Slack led the match with 29 assists.
After a four-match road swing, Alabama closes out the regular season this weekend with matches against South Carolina and Georgia on Friday and Sunday respectively. The Tide’s match against South Carolina gets underway at 7 p.m. while the Georgia match starts at 1:30 p.m.
