
No. 11 Alabama Wins Basketball Opener

The Tide finished the game shooting 52.2 percent from the field, including hitting 11 of 20 three-point attempts in winning their 13th straight home opener.
Newcomer Mykal Riley scored 17 points and senior Jermareo Davidson had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and tied his career high with six blocked shots to lead
As a team, the Tide had 21 assists on the night and defensively set the Coleman Coliseum record with 14 blocked shots. Alabama also played 14 different players including six freshman on the evening.
Alabama head coach Mark Gottfried was pleased with the victory.
“It was a good team win,” Gottfried said. “Our guys played together and they shared the ball. They really passed the ball to one another and we were able to play a lot of guys, so in that regard it was a good night.”
The Tigers’ Trey Johnson led all scorers with 36 points.
