As a former collegiate soccer player and a club crew champion Megan McKee, who holds two degrees from the University of Alabama, has a unique perspective on what it means to be a part of the Crimson Tide's first rowing team.
"The discipline needed to be competitive and the willingness to give all for your teammates made me fall in love with rowing," McKee said. I hope to feed the flame as we begin our first year as a varsity program and get this team to be just as passionate about the sport and the University as I am."
McKee played soccer at the University of Mobile for two seasons before transferring to Alabama. She holds two bachelor's degrees from the Capstone, one in Psychology and the other in Criminal Justice. After graduating Cum Laude in 2006, she is now pursuing a master's degree in Criminal Justice.
A decorated rower, she earned gold at the Head of the Hooch regatta in the lightweight 8 and bronze in the open 8 division of the Head of the South. She earned silver medals at the Aiken County Regatta in the lightweight 4 division and at the John Hunter Regatta in the open 8.
