
Volleyball Competes in the BSC Challenge

Riding a nine game winning streak, the Alabama volleyball team heads to Birmingham this weekend to compete against Jackson State, Belmont and Birmingham-Southern in the BSC Challenge. The Tide's first match in the event is a 4:00 contest against Jackson State on Friday afternoon.
Alabama plays Belmont Saturday monrning at 10:00 and BSC Saturday night at 7:00
Alabama is 5-0 all-time against the tournament field, having defeated Belmont and Birmingham Southern once and Jackson State three times. Should the Tide win all three of its matches, UA's 12-1 start will be the fifth best in school history.
Sophomore Crystal Hudson and senior Kelley Potter are the SEC's top two hitters at .463 and .433 respectively. Sophomore Bridget Fuentez leads the Tide with a 3.65 kills per game average and ranks second on the squad with a 3.19 digs per game mark. Senior Jessica Yearout leads UA with a 4.74 digs per game average, a mark that ranks second in the SEC.
The host Panthers enter their tournament riding a four-match win streak, putting them at 5-4 on the season. Belmont brings a 7-6 record into the event, while Jackson State is 0-6 to start the season.
