As a junior, Beth Mallory became the first Alabama track and field athlete to win an NCAA discus title. She won the SEC and NCAA Regional discus titles leading up to the NCAA Championships.
She then shattered the school discus record by more than two feet on her way to winning Alabama’s 13th national track and field title.
On Saturday night, at the halftime of the Alabama-Southern Miss Football Game, Mallory was presented with her ring by head coach Sandy Fowler and Athletics Director Mal Moore.
