Davidson Has Successful Surgery; Out Six Weeks

University of Alabama sophomore tight end Trent Davidson (Brewton) underwent successful surgery in Tuscaloosa on Friday for a fracture of a bone in his right foot, according to an announcement by head football coach Mike Shula.
Davidson underwent surgery to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal (commonly known as a Jones fracture) of his right foot. The surgery was performed by Dr. Les Fowler at DCH Regional Medical Center on Friday morning.
The surgical procedure consisted of placing a screw across the fracture site to stabilize the injury. Davidson is expected to be out four to six weeks with the injury.
Davidson played in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2004 and earned starts in the final two games of the season against Auburn and Minnesota. He did not have a pass reception. He was listed as the Tide's No. 2 tight end on the depth chart following spring training behind redshirt freshman Nick Walker (Brundidge).
The Crimson Tide football team will report on Monday, Aug. 8 and the first day of practice is Tuesday, Aug. 9.
