Volleyball 2005 Preseason Journal Part 12: Megan Hudson

Today was an interesting day for the Tide. It was unlike any other day I have been a part of here at Alabama. It all started off with practice starting at 10 am instead of nine...which was fantastic I might add. Then, after I got my feet taped by Merideth, I went into the team room to have my morning chat with Fet (Abbi). She then informed me that Coach Green got us face markers and crayons so we could be a part of GOATEE DAY!! Yeah Finn!! I am really not too sure where GOATEE day originated, but all I know is that Chris has been waiting for this day, and he celebrates it every year. He was sporting his hard-core gotee and Erich, well Erich was trying...lol...Erich I give you props for giving it a shot.
Well, thanks to the Lord we, young women, do not have the ability to grow goatees, so we drew ours on. Let me just say that we had Chris in tears, not that that is hard to do or anything, but we looked amazing. Juice and Bones looked like old men, and Fet looked like the HULK. Then Leroy and I looked like really dirty guys, and Daisy’s looked real...it was hard to look at Daisy without being either grossed out or just laughing hysterically. Goatee day was awesome.
Practice was light because we have the Crimson & White scrimmage tomorrow, and I am so pumped. The team is working together so well, and it is really our first chance to put it all together- GAME LIKE!! But, let me get to what we did tonight. After Amy, Slacker, and I got all the rest of our stuff out of the storage locker and finally got moved totally into Martha (That’s what we call our dorm) I went to get my books for the fall.
Well, now I am back at the dorms hanging out with my roomie Amy- shout out to the roomie. We are getting ready for a tough and fun day of ball. Hope you all come. Be ready for Bama Bash the first weekend in September. You all better be there because the Tide is bringing it this year.
