Beep, beep, beep . . . . . . . . . . . . that would be my alarm clock telling me it's time to wake up and go to our morning session practice. Practice for me consisted of a lot of hitting and then some serving towards the end.
Coach (Judy) Green had to remind us more then once how important it is to play together and have the right type of communication as a team. As practice went on our level of play went up because of our communication and effort to work with each other. After session one I was all hyped up to eat our catered in food from Jason’s Deli. I of course opened my taco salad to find only cheese, lettuce, and sour cream. What no meat? I had about an hour left before the afternoon session began. Before the completion of my thirty minute nap, beep, beep, beep..... off to the afternoon session.
This practice was more upbeat and our communication and ability to work together had improved. Practice for me was to focus on my blocking, which we did a lot of. "Ball, hitter, block", "ball, hitter, block","ball, hitter, block". Before practice began Coach (Eric) Hinterstocker decided to pick on us freshman and ask us what the five verbal cues to passing were? Of course we knew them all, well we missed one. After practice we had our first day of strength and conditioning with Jesper. Merideth our trainer made sure we were replenished and made us drink two cups of Gatorade. We lifted weights, did some ab work, and then ran a little outside. After strength and conditioning Merideth made sure we all got into the cold tank. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . it always helps our bodies though!
After cold tanking Lindsey and I went back to our dorm to get some sleep, waiting for the beep, beep, beep....to do it all over again next morning. The count down is on, its almost here, come watch all of our hard work pay off. ROLL TIDE
