EDITOR'S NOTES: This is the sixth in a series of daily journals written by Crimson Tide volleyball players. The journals will give a first-hand account of their experiences as they prepare for the 2005 season, and give an inside look at Alabama Volleyball.

So, I woke up at 3:30pm! Ok, not really, but I really think I could have. After, a good hard week of practice, we were rewarded with today off! Today was filled with rest, hydration, (yeah FIN) and getting settled in our new rooms. By the way, if you went to Target and they were out of what you wanted, it’s because Megan Hudson and Amy Pauly bought it! They are “getting organized.” Ha! (No I’m jk! Their room looks good) We actually learned a lot from living in the dorms last year. I guess you can say we are Gold Members here, at Martha (Parham)!
After, a great day off, we turn our focus on the upcoming week, which is our last full week of practice before our big day. After Saturday’s practice, Chris (Coach Redding) and Judy (Coach Green) both reminded the team, “After a day off, we don’t need to come into the gym Monday and be sluggish. We need to take the day off as an incentive to come in working hard.” I think that was a great reminder as we left the gym. It gave us an understanding that we need to show how a day off only refreshes our legs so we can get back at it.
I look forward to this week. I know we will be working hard and making the needed improvements. I CANNOT wait to get this season rollin’! Until then, we will take one day at a time to achieve something unexpected. Don’t forget! We like our gym loud! See you soon, and ROLL TIDE!
