EDITOR'S NOTES: This is the fourth in a series of daily journals written by Crimson Tide volleyball players. The journals will give a first-hand account of their experiences as they prepare for the 2005 season, and give an inside look at Alabama Volleyball.
----------------
Today was a superior day of practice for the Tide volleyball team. We kicked the day off with a morning session of individual group work (shout out to the thugs). Everyone was working hard to improve their level of play. It was hard work but it will pay off for us in the end.
We later had a little time off for lunch and to get off our feet. I spent my time, as everyone else did, packing up for our moving day tomorrow. All I can say is that it was hot and my stuff was heavy. It felt like I was in the weight room for three hours!!!!!
After that long work out, it was off to the gym for session two. The emphasis on this session was sideout offense. The middles and outsides had a chance to get some hitting reps off of the setters. That’s was cool because we (the thugs) have been working really hard on cleaning up our transitions for different hitting progressions. We had a chance to use what we learned in a real life game situation and make needed adjustments. We later did some zone serving and jumped into 6 vs 6 play.
As you can see in the picture, I was all over, and I do mean all over, Rachael Green today (ha ha, just kidding). The end of practice was very intense and competitive. Both teams battled to the finish but we all know who came out the top dogs!!!!
