The University of Alabama will have five members of its men's track and field team wearing the Crimson and White at this week's NCAA Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, California.
The Crimson Tide will have three runners and two field athletes competing this week, including Peter Etoot in the 800m, Augustus Maiyo in the 5k, Alex Korir in the 10k, Steven Boozer in the discus and Keith Baker in the decathlon.
Etoot, Maiyo and Boozer all qualified for the NCAA Championships based on their performances at the NCAA Mid-East Regional Championships in Bloomington, Indiana two weeks ago.
Korir gained entrance into the meet based on an NCAA provisional time he posted in the 10k at the Stanford Invitational back in March. Baker earned his trip to Sacramento based on his point total in the decathlon at the SEC Championships.
The men's meet is scheduled to begin on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. CT with the qualifying round of the hammer throw. The meet will conclude on Saturday at approximately 10:45 p.m. CT with the men's 4x400m relay.
