Tide's Todd Four Strokes Back Going Into Final Round

ONEONTA – Gator Todd, a freshman golfer this past season on the University of Alabama team, is at one under par and four strokes back going into Sunday’s final round at the 89th annual Alabama State Amateur Championships.
The 72 hole tournament began on Thursday with a cut after 36 holes on Friday. It is being played at Limestone Springs in Oneonta.
Todd, a Florence native and son of former Tide and NFL quarterback Richard Todd, shot four over par, 75, under wet and rainy conditions Saturday. He opened play Thursday at one under par, 70, and followed that on Friday by carding a 67 (70-67-75/212). He goes into final round play four strokes back from leader Will Swift (69-67-72/208) who enters the final round at five under par.
There are four golfers who are under par heading into the final round. Swift, of Hoover, leads the field at five under (208). Tied for second are Tuscaloosa’s Patton Kizzire (69-71-71/211) and Decatur’s Justin Roberts (66-70-75/211), and Todd is next at one under par and in fourth place.
