BAMA CLOSES 4-GAME HOMESTAND WITH SLU
Coming off its first series win over LSU since the 1999 season, No. 22 Alabama Crimson Tide (22-9, 6-3 SEC) closes out this brief four-game homestand with a non-conference game against Southeastern Louisiana (13-18, 3-6 SLC) on Wednesday, April 6th. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Bama and SLU are meeting for third time in the last four years. UA swept a three-game series from SLU (Feb 27-29) last season. Bama took two of three this weekend against LSU, including a thrilling 5-4, 13-inning win in the series finale snap the Tigers' streak of five straight series wins over the Crimson Tide. The series win has landed the Crimson Tide in three of the four major baseball polls, including a No. 22 ranking by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. UA is also ranked 24th by USA Today Sports Weekly Coaches poll and 28th by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association. Alabama is ranked by USA Today Sports Weekly (No. 23) for the first time since the 2003 NCAA Regionals. The Tide is ranked by Collegiate Baseball (No. 23) for the first time since April 28, 2003 following a sweep of then No. 15 Arkansas. Alabama is 16-6 in non conference games this season, including a 14-2 mark here in Tuscaloosa. Following tonight's game, Alabama will play six of next seven on the road, including back-to-back SEC weekends at No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 5 Florida.

*The 2005 season marks the third time in four years the Crimson Tide and Lions have played on the diamond. Alabama swept a three-game series from SE Louisiana (Feb. 27-29) last year here at the Joe.
