Darron Boatright Moves From Basketball to Fundraising for Athletics

TUSCALOOSA - University of Alabama Director of Athletics Mal Moore has announced that Darron Boatright has been hired as "Special Campaigns Director" for the Crimson Tide's athletics department. The 29-year-old Benton, Kentucky native has been the Director of Basketball Operations since July 1999. Boatright was originally hired by Mark Gottfried as a graduate assistant coach in March of 1998 when Gottfried was named head basketball coach.
Boatright will work in the areas of special fundraising campaigns, including an upcoming Coleman Coliseum brick campaign, a former player campaign as well as major gift fundraising. He will be working with recently appointed Director of Athletic Development David Wolf.
