
Tide Men's Track Has Great Outing at Ole Miss

The University of Alabama men’s track and field team traveled to Oxford, Mississippi this weekend and came away with some of its best results of the season.
Bama athletes posted three NCAA Regional Qualifying marks and came away with six event championships and seven personal bests.
Junior Chauncey Harris claimed the 100m championship while posting an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 10.42. Senior Gabe Warren also posted an NCAA Regional qualifying mark while claiming first place in the high jump with a mark of 6’10.75”. Sophomore Steven Boozer also posted an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the discus with a throw of 186’08 claiming first place while posting a personal best at the same time.
Harris wasn’t finished with the 100m as he also claimed the 200m championship with a time of 21.36, finishing .01 seconds ahead of freshman teammate Michael Cooley who claimed second place in the event.
Freshmen led the way for the Crimson Tide in the 1,500m where freshman Augustus Maiyo claimed first place with a time of 3:53.42. Freshman Titus Koeh was right behind him with a second place finish in a time of 3:55.31. Sophomore Alex Korir finished in third with a time of 3:56.77.
The Tide’s 4x100m relay team also claimed first place with a time 40.77.
Freshmen Ron Riley (15.95) and Josh Butler (16.03) posted personal bests in the 110m hurdles. Senior Curtis McBride ran a personal best time of 52.84 in the 400m hurdles. Alec Wood posted personal bests in the javelin (150’03) and the hammer (118’04). Keith Baker also posted a personal best in the long jump with a mark of 19’10.25”.
