Natalie Kohn collected the Tide’s lone goal on the night. Kohn’s shot deflected off a Samford defender and into the net for the score. Chelsea Stang was credited with the assist.
“I tip my hat to Samford,” Alabama head coach Don Staley said. “They executed very well tonight. This was not our best night of soccer, but the spring is about development and I thought we learned a lot from tonight’s game.”
Alabama is still undefeated after four games this spring with a 2-0-2 record.
This weekend’s match, originally scheduled to be played in Huntsville, Ala. has been cancelled. The Tide will be back in action on April 16 at the John Hunt Soccer Complex in Huntsville, Ala. at the Kick a Goal for CCF Classic against Auburn. Alabama will also host its Alumni Game on April 9 at the UA Soccer Complex.
