TUSCALOOSA – The University of Alabama volleyball team plays the first of its four spring tournament events on Saturday when the Crimson Tide welcomes perennial national power Georgia Tech to the CAVE.
The Tide and Yellowjackets will hold a shared team practice session from 10-11:30 a.m. before facing each other in a scrimmage from 12:30-3 p.m. Both the practice and the scrimmage are open to the public with free admission.
“We are excited to have our first spring tournament at home,” said UA head coach Judy Green. “Georgia Tech is a very good volleyball team and Saturday will be a real opportunity for us to practice and play against a quality opponent. It is also a tremendous chance for Bama Volleyball fans to come out and get their first look at the 2005 Crimson Tide.”
Following Saturday’s home scrimmage, Alabama hits the road for the remainder of its spring schedule with weekend events at Tennessee (Apr. 9), at North Carolina (Apr. 16) and at Ole Miss (Apr. 23).
