Tide Men's Track and Field Successful at Meyo Invitational

The University of Alabama men’s track and field team showed its best stuff this weekend at the Meyo Invitational in Southbend, Indiana.
The Crimson Tide recorded two NCAA provisional qualifying marks, two marks that rank in the top 10 in the country, 11 personal bests and two season bests en route to its best showing of the indoor season.
“It was an outstanding meet and a definite improvement over last week,” said head coach Harvey Glance. “This should be a real strong showing in the power rankings and I really look forward to next week’s competition in Fayetteville (Arkansas).”
Gabe Warren and Peter Etoot led the Tide with provisional marks in their respective events. Warren posted a jump of 7’01.50” in the high jump which is the 10th highest jump in the country this season. It was also the fourth best jump in school history as well as a personal best for Warren.
Etoot recorded the fifth fastest time in the country in the 800m with a provisional time of 1:49.37.
LeMual Clayborn recorded the fourth fastest time in the 400m in school history as well as a personal best when he posted a time of 47.46. Also posting personal bests in the 400m were Michael Cooley (48.03), Marcus Siwemuke (49.90), Keith Baker (50.18) and Matt Vogtner (53.21).
Alex Korir ran the fastest time in the Southeastern Conference this season in the 5k crossing the finish line in 14:22.02, while Augustus Maiyo ran the second fastest time in the conference in the 3k with a personal best time of 8:12.00. Kevin McDonough also posted a personal best in the 3k with a time of 8:26.64.
Also recording personal bests for Alabama were Jeff Fedler (800m, 1:50.15), Titus Koeh (800m, 1:51.48) and Jonathan Rono (800m, 1:53.31).
Byron Gibson posted a seasonal best in the 60m hurdles (8.11) as did Curtis McBride in the 800m (1:51.61).
