Women's Track and Field Earns NCAA Qualifying Marks

Competing against some of the nation’s best teams, the Alabama women’s track and field team posted several top-10 finishes and five NCAA qualifying marks at the Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Complex.
Junior Beau Walker raced to a career best 8.20 in the 60m hurdles, taking third and bettering her NCAA qualifying position. She finished 10th in the 200m dash with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 23.81. It is the Tide’s fastest time of the season. Junior Tahesia Harrigan posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.42 in the 60m dash, taking 10th place.
Junior Beth Mallory posted a season best throw of 40 feet and 6.25 inches in the shot put, taking seventh place on the day. Mallory finished eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 63-10.5, an NCAA provisional mark.
Junior Tasha Pharr was fifth in the triple jump with a season best 42-05.5, earning an NCAA provisional standard. Sophomore Julia Hicks took second place in the mile, running a career best 4:56.18.
