The University of Alabama soccer team celebrated the 2004 season at its annual year-end banquet. Five players were presented with awards voted on by the players and coaches.

Sophomore defender Emily Pitek was awarded the Defensive MVP award. Pitek’s presence on defense loomed large for the Tide in 2004 as she marked several of the SEC’s top scores. However, perhaps her season’s biggest highlight came on offense in overtime against Ole Miss. Pitek connected on a penalty kick to give Alabama the 1-0 victory.
Offensive MVP was given to Libby Probst. The junior from Salt Lake City, Utah is quickly moving up Alabama’s all-time list of assists (seventh with 12), goals (ninth with 18) and points (eighth with 48). She led the team in 2004 with seven assists and was third in goals scored with five.
Rayme Hubbard took home the team’s Most Improved award. Despite not scoring on the season, Hubbard played in 20 of Alabama’s 21 games and was an all-important role player at midfield.
The Coach’s Award was presented to Alabama’s emotional leader, Rebecca Baker. The fifth-year senior from Foley, Ala. was a two-year captain and played in 78 of 80 career games while at the Capstone. This past season she scored two goals and five points including the game-winner at LSU.
Head coach Don Staley was also presented with a commemorative award in honor of claiming his 300th career victory.
