Tide Softball to Have Legends Days during 2006 Season

The University of Alabama softball program has announced that it will be hosting five separate “Legends Days” during the 2006 season as a part of the on going 10th anniversary celebration.
Coming back to the UA Softball Complex throughout the season will be former All-Americans Ashley Courtney, Ginger Jones, Shelley Laird, Kelly Kretschman and Jackie McClain.
“As we approach the 10th season, we just felt it was a great time to honor some of the outstanding past performers of the program,” said head coach Patrick Murphy. “All five names are everywhere in the record books and they were just great representatives of the program. We could have had 20 players but these were the five most decorated.”
The Tide will be celebrating its 10th anniversary all season long with various other honors, promotions and giveaways.
“It’s just a way to celebrate each segment of the past 10 years. Celebrating the entire tradition we’ve been building the last nine seasons,” said Murphy. “It’s happened so quickly, it’s just amazing how far the program has come.”
Bama will open the 2006 season on February 10-12 when they host the ninth annual Bama Bash! tournament. For ticket information, contact the Alabama Ticket Office at 205.348.2262.
