Tide No. 15 in AP Preseason Poll

TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama is ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press Preseason Rankings released Monday. The Crimson Tide, which finished No. 20 in the final poll of 2005, is one of only two Southeastern Conference teams ranked in the Top 25. Kentucky is No. 9.
Two of Alabama's 2005-06 opponents are ranked among the top 10 in the AP poll including Kentucky and No. 6 Oklahoma. Alabama plays Oklahoma on December 31 in an ESPN game and at Kentucky in a January 14 CBS game. Five other Tide opponents are receiving rankings votes, including North Carolina State, LSU, Florida, Arkansas, and Notre Dame.
Alabama is ranked No. 14 in the Coaches poll which was released two weeks ago.
