Volleyball: Abbi Blackburn's NCAA Journal, Day 1
11/30/2005 12:00:00 AM | Volleyball
We began our trip at the softball parking lot, ready to get on our way to the airport like any other traveling weekend. This time, however, we were greeted by many people to see us off. Friends, fans, faculty, staff and even the softball and women’s tennis teams were there to wish us good luck before we headed off. Pictures were taken and many hugs were shared, but we couldn’t leave until soccer’s Emily Pitek high-fived and chest bumped everyone, including Coach Green.
The rest of our journey was like any other??food on the bus, taking funny pictures and layovers in airports. Everyone just relaxed and joked around with one another. But in the back of each of our minds is the rest of our journey that lies ahead. Our excitement for this awesome opportunity is evident, but our determination to be successful is even clearer. The Tide is always hungry for another win.
We know that our road won’t be easy, but I believe we are ready to take the test. I know I speak for all of us when I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support that everyone has given us this year. We wouldn’t be here without it. So now we get ready for another day to take things like we always have??one step at a time.
Roll Tide,
Abbi Blackburn
