The Crimson Tide men’s track and field program has grown by one, as Albert Winsley has signed a national letter of intent to compete for Alabama next season.
Winsley, a transfer from Hinds Community College, is a high jumper and triple jumper that head coach Harvey Glance feels will have an immediate impact on the program.
“Albert brings a lot of diversity and help in our jumping areas,” said Glance. “He’s a fine young man and we think he will help out our program tremendously. He’s one of the better athletes in the country and we’re very excited to have him.”
The Brandon, Mississippi native was a runner-up at the NCAA Junior College Championships in the high jump when he posted a mark of 6’10.00”. He’s posted a 7’00.00 in the high jump as well as a triple jump distance of 50’00.00”.
