Volleyball Sweeps Ole Miss 3-0 in Oxford

The Alabama volleyball team got back on the winning track Friday night with a 3-0 (30-26, 30-23, 30-22) sweep of Ole Miss in Oxford. The victory was the Crimson Tide's 13th straight over its SEC West rival dating back to 1998 and was also the 13th sweep of the season for UA.
With the win, Alabama improves to 15-3 overall, 3-2 in Southeastern Conference play. The Rebels fall to 6-11 overall and 0-5 in the SEC.
Alabama had a balanced attack offensively. As a team, UA hit .241 and committed just 18 errors in 116 attacks. Freshman Sarah Snider led the Tide with 12 kills followed by Kelley Potter and Bridget Fuentez who had eight kills apiece. Crystal Hudson and Lindsey Buteyn had seven kills each. Hudson also posted a team best .429 hitting percentage on the night. Sophomore Brigitte Slack added her third double-double of the season with 26 assists and 14 digs.
"From an offensive standpoint we were very balanced. We took good care of the ball and were able to cut down on our unforced errors to perform better than we did the last time that we played."
The Tide controlled the game defensively as well, holding the Rebels to just a .077 hitting percentage on the night while UA slugged .241. Alabama also posted a season high 13 blocks.
"Our game plan was to be able to contain the two their two outside hitters tonight and I felt that we did a good job of that,"Alabama head coach Judy Green said.
The Rebels were led by Nikki Hill and Jaclyn Toohey with 15 and 14 kills respectively. Nicole Mahan had 14 digs for Ole Miss.
