University of Alabama senior starting guard Earnest Shelton, who has been the SEC scoring leader this season and currently ranks second at 19.4 points per game going into tonight’s game home against Tennessee State, received his degree in management (School of Business) from the University of Alabama during the 9 a.m. CT graduation ceremony on Saturday morning, December 18. Shelton, a native of Memphis, is shown in the photo receiving his degree from Dr. Barry Mason, Dean of the university’s Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business. He is the 15th senior, of 15, that Alabama head coach Mark Gottfried has graduated in the last four-and-a-half years. Shelton has graduated within three-and-a-half years and is Academic All-Southeastern Conference. Three more current players on Gottfried’s team will graduate by August 2005, including junior starter Chuck Davis (he’ll graduate within three years this August) and May 2005 graduates Lucky Williams and Jason Reese.
