In the latest United States Track Coaches Association (USTCA) team power rankings, the Alabama women’s track and field team is ranked fifth nationally.
The Team Power Ranking is a unique system of ranking teams on the basis of quality of athletic performance, team depth, and dual meet scoring potential.
Alabama is keyed by juniors Beau Walker and Beth Mallory. Walker is ranked No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference in the 60m hurdles and fifth nationally while Mallory is fourth in the SEC and eighth nationally in the weight throw. Sophomore Julia Hicks is ranked second in the conference in both the 3000m run and the mile.
Alabama returns to action Feb. 4-5 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
