The University of Alabama men’s track and field team is on the road again this weekend, traveling to East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee for the 2005 Niswonger Invitational.
The Tide is coming off a successful meet in Lexington, Kentucky last weekend and head coach Harvey Glance expects the success of his team and the maturation of his youngsters to continue this weekend.
“I expect us to be better this weekend and I think we’ll have a good idea after this meet where we’ll stack up in the power rankings,” said Glance.
Alabama had to deal with a short week this week both on the track and in the classroom but Glance said it was more of a film study week for the team.
“We’re dealing with a short week this week both academically and on the track so the first thing was to make sure the guys got back into the classroom,” said Glance. “We eased up on their workload this week and talked more about their mental preparation as well as watching film.”
The men’s meet is scheduled to begin at 11:50 a.m. (CT) with the 60m hurdles preliminaries.
