Two Alabama Swimmers Ranked No. 1 Nationally

In the latest rankings, the Alabama swimming and diving teams have two athletes ranked No. 1 nationally.
Sophomore Vlad Polyakov is the nation's top 100 and 200 breaststroker while senior Anne Poleska is the nation's fastest in the women's 200 breaststroke. Polyakov as the NCAA Runner-up in the 200 breaststroke as a rookie while Poleska was second at NCAA Championships as a junior.
In addition to the top two, four other Alabama stand outs rank in the national top-50. Sophomore Hunor Mate' is ninth in the 100 breaststroke and 25th in the 200 breaststroke. Sophomore Apostolis Tsagkarakis is 17th in the 50 freestyle and 38th in the 100.
Senior Arlene Semeco is 13th in the women's 50 freestyle and 34th in the 100 while sophomore Victoria Genova is 50th in the 100 butterfly.
Alabama returns to action this Saturday at home against the Florida Gators. The meet will be held in the Alabama Aquatic Center and admission is free.
