Tide Softball Opens 2005 Season With Team Workout

The University of Alabama softball team had its first team workout of the 2005 season and despite chilly conditions, head coach Patrick Murphy was pleased.
“I thought everybody did a good job of staying focused on everything even with the cold temperatures,” said Murphy. “Batting practice was limited because of the cold but it gave us a chance to get in some good work defensively where I thought the freshmen looked good.”
Murphy said he thought Capper Reed, Stephanie VanBrakle and Dominique Accetturo stood out offensively even though their work was limited.
The Tide will continue their workouts on Monday at 11:30 and will practice for approximately two and a half hours.
