Former Bama Standout Broe Named Athlete of the Week

Former University of Alabama track and field standout Tim Broe has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the USA Men's 5 km title Sunday at the 2004 USA Men's 5 km Championship. The event was hosted by the CVS/Pharmacy Downtown 5K in Providence, Rhode Island.
The 2004 Olympic Trials 5,000m champion Broe, won the race in a new Championships record time of 13 minutes, 37 seconds. A resident of Ann Arbor, Mich., Broe finished 11th at Olympic Games in Athens, Greece in 13:33.06.
Broe won the NCAA Championship in the 3,000m Steeplechase at Alabama in 2000.
