Abbi Blackburn is in her second season of play for the Crimson Tide volleyball program. A native of New Castle, Ind., Abbi spent last year out of position serving as Bama’s back-up setter. This year, she returned to her more natural position as an opposite or right-side hitter. The 5-11 left-hander earned her first career start this past weekend against UT-Arlington and Arkansas-Little Rock. Against UALR, Abbi recorded career high marks in both kills (9) and attack attempts (23).
This coming weekend, Abbi along with her teammates will pay a visit to her home state to participate in the IU Invitational at the University of Indiana. The Tide will square off against the host Hoosiers as well as Pitt and Kent State.
