Knight picked-up in spring practice where he left off during the 2004 season and is now poised to make an impact in the Tide’s receiver rotation. He earned the Ozzie Newsome Most Improved Freshman Award following spring practice.
2004 (Freshman): Knight saw action in every game, getting 316 snaps, including a season-high 43 in the Music City Bowl against Minnesota. He had two receptions each against Western Carolina (46 yards), Tennessee (eight yards) and Minnesota (10 yards).
Prep: As a linebacker at Randolph County, Knight had 147 tackles and two sacks from his outside linebacker spot. At the wide receiver position, Ezekial had 28 receptions for 522 yards and seven TDs and 12 punt returns for 504 yards and six TDs. In his junior year, as a wide receiver, he caught 31 passes for 788 yards and nine touchdowns. His junior year, Knight was selected to the All-Metro (Class 1A through 6A) and All-State teams. In 2003, Knight helped lead Randolph County to the 2A state championship title with a 31-yard touchdown run and a 77-yard punt return in the title game against Luverne. He was MVP in that championship game. Knight earned class 2A All-State honors and was named 2A's Back of the Year.
Personal: He likes to be called Zeke and he is the son of Amy Knight and he has one sister, Kiesha. Born 1-2-85. He is in pre-major studies.
