TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --- Alabama junior linebacker Freddie Roach recently had arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss at least the first week of fall practice, according to Tide coach Mike Shula.
"Freddie had surgery on his right knee and will miss at least the first week of practice," Shula said. "He will be reevaluated at that point to determine his availability for the remainder of fall practice," Shula added.
"This has been bothering me for quite some time," Roach said. "It was a miniscus tear that I got scoped to take care of the problem."
He was a 12-game starter at middle linebacker and was the Tide's fifth-leading tackler last year with 85 stops.
