Kari Thompson
Graduate Assistant for Volleyball Operations

Kari Thompson is in her second season with the Crimson Tide serving as the Graduate Assistant for Volleyball Operations.
A native of Amherst, Wisc., Thompson came to the Capstone after spending last season as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Wisconsin Green-Bay.
Prior to working with UWGB’s coaching staff, Thompson was a three-year letterwinner for the Phoenix as a middle blocker/right side hitter. She was key contributor in Green Bay’s consistent improvement over the last few years and helped guide the team from the sidelines to an NCAA Tournament appearance last year.
While at Wisconsin Green-Bay, she played for and worked along side current UA assistant coach Erich Hinterstocker. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and the Arts from UWGB in December of 2003.
A standout prep performer at Amherst High School, Thompson began her collegiate playing career at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn. She played club volleyball for the Impact Volleyball Club and currently plays in the USAV. Thompson has served as a coach for several volleyball club teams and guided the Green Bay East High freshman squad in 2003.
She was born April 3, 1981.
