EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the ninth in a series of daily journals written by Crimson Tide volleyball players. The journals will give a first-hand account of their experiences as they prepare for the 2004 season, and give an inside look at Alabama Volleyball.

Today is my day to write to you about what has been going on with the volleyball team in the CAVE. In case you haven’t kept up with the daily journals, today ended our 9th day of preseason, and it ended on a good strong note!
The team stepped into the gym with the intent to improve today. We got off to a great start, playing 3 on 3. Shout outs to Jessica who had some great digs today. After doing stretches with Jami, our strength trainer, we split up to work on more individual things. The middles, AKA Thugs, got to work on quick sets with our two freshmen setters, Megan Hudson and Brigitte Slack. They have been doing an awesome job, setting nearly every ball to perfection! At the end of the day we got to play some short games and work on our offense. We definitely raised our level of play today! After our evening session, someone cranked up the music in the locker room and Sean, our manager, showed off a few of his “special dance moves”. He always finds a way to make everyone laugh.
Megan and Abbi are back and going strong after being sidelined with ankle injuries a couple of days ago. Way to be tough girls! And we all missed Mary Beth today who had to take the day off to get her wisdom teeth removed. Yuk! Come back soon, MB, we miss you!!
There is no limit to how far this team is going to go this year! The chemistry is amazing; I can’t stop laughing every time I get around this group of girls. Like Crystal said one day, “There’s a party going on in my head and nobody is leaving!” Everyone brings a unique quality to this team, which all fits perfectly. But after two hard practices today, I really need to get some sleep, because tomorrow is going to be a challenge too! Goodnight all, and ROLL TIDE!
