Today ended our first sequence of preseason. We have really been working hard to make our weaknesses strong and our strengths even stronger. Our morning session focused mainly on serving and passing. One of my favorite drills is the passing ladder. The passing ladder consists of four ladders, with three girls competing against each other by serving and passing. Everyone’s goal is to make it to the top of the ladder. Unfortunately for me I had to move down the ladder today. I can’t wait until we play again so I can get a chance to “move it on up”. It was a shorter practice but we still accomplished what needed to be done. We were informed at the end of practice that we would come back during our evening session and scrimmage. Everybody was getting pumped up (Ohhh Happy Day!!). I couldn’t wait to get back and compete.
Our evening session went just as promised. We warmed up and jumped straight into a six on six scrimmage. Anytime we get an opportunity to play, we all get excited. It was very productive and competitive. Everyone felt good about where we are but we are all still hungry for more. The highlight of the day was the dance routine that Meagan, Kory, Heff, my best friend Farley and I had been practicing. (Ladies just keep on doing the stuff). Farley just work on your bankhead bounce and you got it baby.

After all of the fun and laughs, we had an after party over at Jess and Potter’s apartment. They cooked tacos for the whole team. The tacos were delicious but Potter forgot the sour cream. How could she forget the sour cream!!!!! After we ate tacos, they had a special treat planned for the team. What could it be??? Yes, you guessed it, cookies. Those cookies were so appetizing I had to have one more (ha ha). The season is just around the corner and I’m pumped.
Roll Tide,
Crystal “Juice” Hudson
