Alabama Men's Track to Compete at SEC Championships

The regular season behind them, the University of Alabama men’s track and field will begin its post season run as the team heads to Oxford, Mississippi for the 2004 SEC Outdoor Championships.
Led by Tide sophomore Peter Etoot, who currently holds a spot in the NCAA Regional Championships in two events, Alabama will be looking to improve upon its ninth place finish at the 2003 SEC Championships. Etoot has qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships in both the 800m and 1,500m events.
Also posting NCAA Regional qualifying times so far this season have been Chauncey Harris in the 100m dash, Todd Fayant in the 3k Steeplechase, Byron Gibson in the 110m hurdles, Steven Boozer in the discus and the Tide’s 4x100m relay team.
The men’s events are scheduled to kick off on Friday with the hammer beginning at 6:00 p.m. and will wrap up at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Sunday with the 4x400m relay.
