Tide Golfer Lars Brovold is Named All-America Scholar

TUSCALOOSA – On Monday University of Alabama golfer Lars Brovold was invited to compete for a national championship beginning with next week’s NCAA East Regional. Two days later he has learned that he is also among college golf’s elite in the classroom. The Fredrikstad, Norway native was selected to the All-America Scholar team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Brovold is a three-time Academic All-Southeastern Conference Award winner. He is a management major at the University of Alabama.
On the course he has led the Crimson Tide for the past two seasons as the Alabama golfer with the lowest stroke average. The 2004 All-SEC golfer who is a two-time World Amateur participant takes a 71.60 stroke average into NCAA regional play at Yale on May 20-22.
