Alabama Men's Track Competes at Prestigious Mt. Sac Relays

It was quite the learning experience for the young 22nd ranked University of Alabama men’s track and field team this weekend as they traveled to Walnut, California for the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays.
Among several soon to be Olympians and current All-Americas, Todd Fayant, Byron Gibson, Erroll Hickenbottom and Gabe Warren led the charge for the Tide posting Top 10 finishes in their respective events.
Fayant finished eighth in the 3k Steeplechase with an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 9:03.66.
Gibson also posted an NCAA Regional qualifying mark, his second of the season. He finished ninth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.30.
Hickenbottom claimed 10th place in the triple jump with a distance of 48’06.25” while Warren took eighth place in the high jump with a height of 6’08.00”.
Alex Korir posted a team season fastest time of 14:39.17 in the 5k.
The Tide will return to action this weekend as the team heads north, to Iowa to participate in “America’s Athletic Classic” the Drake Relays.
