Tide Soccer Goes Undefeated at Alabama Classic

The University of Alabama soccer team faced four opponents in the 2004 Alabama Spring Classic and came out of all four matches undefeated without allowing a goal.
The Tide defeated Troy State and Jacksonville State 1-0, Shelton State 2-0 and played to a 0-0 tie against the Greenville Football Club.
Alabama got goals on the day from Courtney Cockrill, who scored both goals against Shelton State and one against Troy State and Libby Probst, who connected on a 30 yard shot from the left side of the field putting it in the upper 90 on the right side of the goal, against Jacksonville State.
Laura Lowman and Carly Carson split time between the posts, with each keeper playing two games. Lowman posted shutouts against Jacksonville State and GFC while Carson was perfect against Troy State and Shelton State.
Up next for the Crimson Tide on its spring schedule is a charity match against the Auburn Tigers on April 17. The game will be played in Huntsville and is being held to help CCFA (Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America) raise community awareness as well as the necessary money needed to provide educational support and programs, and to fund research to find the cause and cure of Crohn’s & Colitis.
There will be a raffle and giveaways throughout the event, along with some light entertainment.
Gates will open at 3:45 p.m., with a kick off ceremony at 4:00, there is a first game starting at 4:30 with Alabama and Auburn following up that match at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the gate. The costs of tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students (ID required over 18) and senior citizens and they are 100% tax deductible.
