Alabama Gymnast Stephanie Kite Named to SEC Good Works Team

Alabama Gymnastics senior Stephanie Kite is a member of the inaugural Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Good Works Team, which was announced today. The SEC sponsors a Good Works Teams for all 20 sports it sponsors. The Gymnastics Good Works Team represents seven SEC gymnasts, one from each competing institution. The Good Works Team highlights an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
A native of Austin, Texas Kite spends six hours a week translating in elementary and high schools for kids whose first language is Spanish, and she has also organized and participated in the gymnastic team's annual Bake Sale that raises money for the Salvation Army's Project Angel Tree. The senior international business major has worked with children in Tuscaloosa's Children's Hands on Museum and volunteered at the athletic department's Halloween party for local children. In addition, she hosted the children of the Stallings' RISE Center for gymnastic team's annual Christmas party. Kite holds a perfect 4.0 grade point average for her career and was a 2003 At-Large First-team Verizon Academic All-American and a floor exercise All-American in 2003.
