
Tide Golfers in 5th After Two Rounds at Tulane Invitational

NEW ORLEANS, LA. - Two University of Alabama golfers are at even par and among a tie for seventh place after two rounds Monday at the Tulane Invitational.
Alabama is one of nine teams competing in the tournament which is being played at English turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans. Alabama is in fifth place, having a tough morning round where it shot 307 Monday. But Alabama followed that with a 283 in the afternoon round and is 14 over par going into Tuesday morning's final round (307-283/590). SMU leads the field and is ten under par after posting team scores of 279-287/566. Wake Forest is second at even par (576), followed by Tulane (586), Southeastern Louisiana (588), Alabama (590), Ole Miss (596), UAB (598), Southern Miss (601) and New Orleans (612).
Wake Forest's Bill Haas goes into the final 18 holes nine under par after shooting 68-67/135 on the par 72 course. He's a stroke ahead of Tulane's Michael Thompson who shot 70-66\136 on his home course.
For Alabama, Lars Brovold (74-70/144) and Lance Walker (77-67/144) are pushing for top five finishes. They're at even par going into the final round. Max Alverio is tied at 29th (78-74/152) at eight over, and packed close behind are Austin Hynson (81-72/153) and Clint Provost (78-75/153) who are amongst a tie at 32nd.
