William Jennings gets first career hole-in-one, Brycen Jones inside top 15 to lead Alabama

WEST POINT, Miss. – The No. 17 Alabama men's golf team finished the opening day of play at the Mossy Oak Collegiate on Monday and is in fourth overall through 36 holes with a team score of 4-over par 576 (292-284).

Brycen Jones is in a tie for 14^th overall with a 1-under par 143, while Nick Gross is at even par 144 and in a tie for 20^th to pace the Crimson Tide. William Jennings had the shot of the day, recording his first collegiate hole-in-one when aced the 201-yard par 3 11^thhole in the second round of play.

Day One Highlights

Brycen Jones leads the Crimson Tide in 14^th position heading into Tuesday's final round of play after he carded an even par 72 in round one and followed that with a 1-under 71 in the afternoon
Nick Gross, who is in a 19^th-place tie after 36 holes, opened with a 3-over 75 in the morning but responded with his best round of the spring by carding a 3-under 69 in round two, and finished the day at even par 144
Similarly, Jonathan Griz opening his day with a 75 and responded by carding a 2-under 70 to end the day in a tie for 28^thposition at 1-over par 145
William Jennings, who entered the event ranked No. 8 in the nation, is in a tie for 42^nd after carding a 36-hole total of 3-over 147 (73-74)
Connor Brown is in a tie for 51^st with a 148 (72-76) to round out the Tide's starting five
Jack Mitchell, who is competing as an individual, ended the day at 9-over par 153 (73-80)
is in a tie for ninth overall at 2-over par 146 (71-75), combining on the day for a team-leading nine birdies

After collecting just one birdie across his opening 18 holes in the morning, Jennings responded five birdies compared to three bogeys to close the afternoon at 2-under 70
