TUSCALOOSA -- The University of Alabama women's basketball team hosts arch-rival Auburn on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the final home game of the season.
The Crimson Tide (12-13, 4-8 SEC) welcome the nationally-ranked No. 18 Tigers (20-6, 8-4 SEC) looking to prevent a season sweep by Auburn for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. Alabama suffered a disappointing 62-59 setback at Kentucky on Sunday while AU enters the match-up following a 68-60 loss to Vanderbilt. The loss for Auburn was their first at home this season and snapped a four-game win streak.
Alabama has enjoyed some recent success against the Tigers having won 6 of the last 8 meetings between the pair. The Tide has also won 10 of 11 games in Tuscaloosa versus Auburn under head coach Rick Moody.
Besides being the final home game of the season for the Tide, Thursday's game will also mark the end of the home careers for UA seniors Manisha Redus and Oreal Taylor. The Alabama duo will be honored and recognized in a pre-game ceremony.
Following the Auburn game, Alabama concludes its regular season slate on Sunday afternoon at Mississippi State at 3 p.m.
